The Occupational Health Psychology Summer Institute (OHP-SI) began through discussions among scholars at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, NS, Portland State University in Portland, OR, and Dr. Joe Hurrell, a pioneer on workplace health and stress at NIOSH.

Its intent was to create an platform where researchers and practitioners can learn about the latest research, share the best research and practice with topics addressing safety climate, psychologically healthy workplaces, resilience, stress, employee health, work-life balance, civility, developing successful interventions, and developing effective leaders.

Location:

The OHP-SI locations alternate between the west coast (Portland) and the east coast (Nova Scotia).

The institute attracts researchers and practitioners from around the world with topics ranging from safety climate, psychologically healthy workplaces, and stress, to employee health and the work family balance.

The SI emphasizes sharing of research and practice.

We’ve had 5 very successful OHP-SI, and are looking forward to our upcoming institutes.
